Matchups

Each Player will submit their average score and then be placed into a alphabetical category classifying them into a group of players with similar skill set. For example, if John is a 2 handicap, he would likely be ranked as an "A" class golfer. Contrarily, If Bobby is a 25 handicap, maybe say an "E" class. Therefore, John and Bobby will not be paired together nor against each other.

Once all players have been registered into the tournament, each player will be partnered with discretionary bias to pair friends together and matched against similar players of the same letter or rank.

If you are new to this, match play helps level the playing field without having to win the entire round as each hole can only effect the match by going 1 up or 1 down. Plus you have a partner to lean on as well.

(You can win the match and point for your team and shoot a worse score than your opponent)

Day 1 (Round 1): FOUR-BALL

In four-ball, each member of a two-man team plays his own ball, so four balls are in play on every hole. Each team counts the lowest of its two scores on each hole, and the team whose player has the lowest score wins the hole. If the low scores are tied, the hole is halved.

The winning team of the match accumulates 1 point for their team. In the event of a tie, each side will obtain 1/2 a point for their team.

Day 1 (Round 2): Alternate Shot 9-holes

Each two-man team plays one ball per hole with the players taking turns until each hole is complete. Players alternate hitting tee shots, with one leading off on odd-numbered holes, and the other hitting first on even-numbered holes. The team with the low score on each hole wins that hole. If their scores are tied, the hole is halved.

The winning team of the match accumulates 1 point for their team. In the event of a tie, each side will obtain 1/2 a point for their team.

Day 2 (Round 3): Singles

In singles, each match features one player from each team. The player with the lower score on each hole wins that hole. If their scores are tied, the hole is halved.

The winning team of the match accumulates 1 point for their team. In the event of a tie, each side will obtain 1/2 a point for their team.

How does my team win?

EASY.. Once all the matches are played, the side with the most points wins. Each match you enter into (3 in this event ) is worth 1 point. Matches that end in a tie are split 1/2 point to each side. There are no extra holes or tie breakers per match.
